EVs soon to get cheaper in Gujarat state as they announce their new EV policies

Currently, about 10 states in the country have announced their new policies in the EV field. Gujarat however, has said to be the first state to have more effective policies, encouraging people of the state to purchase and use EVs. One of the eye-catching policy announced was the subsidy by the government for EV buyers. This means that anyone who buys an EV does not have to pay the taxes like road taxes for the vehicle. Additionally, there are no registration fees or taxes for an EV according to the policy.
Talking about the subsidy, the amount can vary upto anywhere from 20,000 INR to 1,50,000 INR depending on the vehicle type. The larger the Vehicle size, the greater the subsidy. Under the FAME scheme, 278 EV charging stations have been approved to be installed all over the state. Additionally, the state has also offered to set up an additional 250 charging stations on top of the upcoming 278 stations by July of 2025.
Moreover, anyone who is willing to spend and set up a commercial public EV charging station from their own pockets is said to receive up to Rs 10,00,000 in subsidy by the government.
All these policies make it easier on the customers who are looking to buy ro already own an EV as it removes some major barriers, which eventually will lead to an EV-freindly state.
